Kristy M. Rans was born in South Bend, Indiana, and is admitted to the Indiana Bar, and the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana where her main focus is litigation.  Graduating from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English, Ms. Rans attended Valparaiso University School of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctor Degree.  During law school, Ms. Rans was an active participant in the Valparaiso Moot Court Honor Society, participating twice in the Luther M. Swygert Memorial Moot Court Competition as a semi-finalist, as well as the American Bar Association National Moot Court Competition in Washington D.C., and the August A. Rendigs, Jr. National Products Liability Moot Court Competition. 

Ms. Rans is a member of the American Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association, Saint Joseph County Bar Association, Defense Trial Council of Indiana, Defense Research Institute, and the Robert A. Grant Inn of Court.
